Manchester Hosting 1st Annual River Days Celebration

Manchester is hosting a new event this weekend.

It’s called River Days – three days full of activities for the community to enjoy.

Chamber Director Dave Wakefield says it kicked off last night with “Music on the Maquoketa” – and it will continue tonight with the Friday Night Farmers Market at The Watershed along the Maquoketa River behind Bushel & A Peck.

There’s also a 5K tonight starting at 7 pm at the Whitewater Park.

You can register for tonight’s 5K through 4 pm on the Manchester Chamber website or Facebook page – or you can sign up in person before the race. The cost is $30.

And River Days culminates on Saturday with a full day of activities.

And of course, many of Saturday’s River Days activities will be taking place right on the water.

Wakefield says they’ll take a break from 3 to 6 pm to get South Franklin Street set up, which is where a street dance will be taking place Saturday night, with all ages welcome.

The Chamber is hoping Manchester River Days becomes an annual event.

You can find the schedule of all of this weekend’s Manchester River Days activities below, with additional information available on the Manchester Chamber’s Facebook page.
