One person was killed in a crash in Linn County on Tuesday morning.
It happened in the Marion area at County Home Road and North 10th Street shortly before 8:30 am. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says a semi had been traveling westbound on County Home Road when a northbound SUV tried crossing the intersection.
The SUV was struck by a semi, pushing it into the yard of a vacant house at 2409 County Home Road.
A passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The semi driver suffered minor injuries.
The names of those involved are being withheld until family has been notified.
The crash remains under investigation.
