Buchanan County Conservation’s New Traveling Exhibit Opens Today

Buchanan County Conservation is offering a new traveling exhibit and it opens today.
It’s called Wolves and Wild Lands developed by the International Wolf Center.Â
The exhibit brings the compelling stories of wolves and their relationship with humans to nature center visitors. Wolves and Wild Lands is composed of six preserved taxidermy specimens, each presented in its human and natural-history context, which include the Arctic wolf, Mexican wolf, Coyote, Red wolf, Rocky Mountain wolf and Great Plains wolf.
Any accompanying displays provide regional information that impacts each of these animals. Featured topics include the most recent research and population statistics and the human perspective on what it means to live with – or without – wolves.
You can visit the traveling exhibit at the Fontana Interpretive Nature Center starting today and running through August 24th. Nature Center hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to noon; Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 4:30 pm and weekends from 1 to 5 pm.
The traveling exhibit offers free admission, with donations accepted.
