Purple Ribbon Winners Popping Up at Delaware County Fair

It’s already Day Three of the Delaware County Fair.

A new event debuted at the grandstands last night – ATV, UTV and golf cart races – with the free carnival rides opening for the week too. And purple ribbons and trophies were starting to pop around the fairgrounds. A couple of Prairie Clovers 4-H club members had a great day at the Horse Show on Monday.

That’s Caleb Crane, who won a purple ribbon with his horse. Fellow club member Megan Beilby won a purple ribbon too.

Along with all the action in the show rings the last couple days, 4-H and FFA exhibitors have been finding out if they’re headed to the State Fair with their projects for woodworking, visual arts and other categories. We’ve shared a list of those winning exhibitors on our KMCH Facebook page.

The local foodstands are going strong, the free ground acts have started up and, today, it’s all about the kids as it is Kids Day – plus, Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer says they’ve got a free throw contest tonight at 6 pm in front of the pavilion.

And tonight – two big events – with Tough Truck Races in the grandstands and the Christian concert on the festival stage.

Fair Board President Kurt Palmer says the week’s been going great so far – with big crowds there the first two nights. He says it truly is a countywide effort to make it all happen.
