Delaware County Fair Welcoming REO Speedwagon Thursday Night

Wednesday brought some rain to the Delaware County Fair in Manchester – but other than the Horse Show being postponed, everything else went on as planned. Tough Truck Races last night, along with a good crowd for the Christian concert with Josh Baldwin.

It was Dairy Day in the show ring, Kids Day on the grounds and a busy day for the local foodstands. Jared Hoefer of the Earlville Clever Clovers was working in the 4-H Foodstand on Wednesday.

The proceeds raised at the 4-H Foodstand directly help 4-H clubs and their members.

Ben was serving up some favorites in the First Lutheran Stand behind the grandstands.

The funds raised at the First Lutheran Stand allow the church to help others. Ben and other church members are getting ready to go on a youth mission trip later this month.

We’ll be broadcasting from the Delaware County Cattlemen’s Steer-n-Stein on Saturday.

There’s been some fun exhibits to check out at this week’s Delaware County Fair too. Local resident Nolan Lyness was at the fair Tuesday and Wednesday with the Iowa Corn Mobile Education Trailer.

Rosie was in the Kiddie Calf Show on Wednesday with her calf, Oreo.

KMCH’s Eric Walker recruited Rosie to draw the winner of our REO Speedwagon ticket giveaway at the KMCH fair booth.

Congratulations Doug Vaske! Tonight’s REO Speedwagon concert is expected to see a big crowd, with the Party Pit sold out. Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer says they’ve been trying to bring REO to Manchester for years – and this year, it finally worked out.

Track tickets are still available for tonight’s REO concert – standing room only, $50 each. You can get those online at delawarecofair.com or through the fair office in the pavilion at the fairgrounds. Seating in the Scooter’s Grandstand is free with your paid admission into the fair. Tonight’s show starts at 8:30 pm, with gates opening at 7 pm.
