The Delaware County Fair has crowned new royalty.
Three local teens were chosen from among eight candidates in this year’s royalty contest, with the winners announced right before Friday night’s Carly Pearce concert. And all three tell KMCH they’ve grown up with the fair.
The new 2023 Delaware County Fair Queen is Dannie Burkle of Earlville.
The new 2023 Delaware County Fair Princess is Kaya Knipper of Worthington.
And the new 2023 Delaware County Fair King is Evan Dunkel of Manchester.Â
The 2nd Runner Up was Chloe Peyton of Dundee.
The new royalty takes over the reign for last year’s outgoing Fair Queen Maddie Hoeger of Manchester and Fair Princess Tessa Tauke of Dyersville.
As the new queen, Burkle will be representing the Delaware County Fair at the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest in August.Â
