Firefighters Respond to Buchanan County Shed Fire

Firefighters responded to a Buchanan County shed fire on Wednesday night.

The Independence Fire Department says they were requested for mutual aid by Winthrop Fire for the shed fire, which broke out in the 2600 block of Vincent Avenue around 10:30 pm.

On scene, crews found a shop with heavy smoke and heat coming from the building. Crews were able to get a quick knockdown on the fire and began overhaul operations.

Crews were on the scene for about an hour, with assistance from East-Central Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative.
