Delaware County Extension Hosts Tiny Techies Day Camp

ISU Extension and Outreach Delaware County recently held a ‘Tiny Techies’ day camp.

Fifteen kids attended the camp on July 20th, where they were introduced to a variety of computer science topics through a fun chapter book story. Chapter and activity topics included sequencing, decomposition, pattern recognition, Booleans, data structures, loops, and more.

Each topic had a fun challenge activity for the kids to get hands-on with their learning and apply it in real life. In the afternoon, they rotated through computer science stations that included the Cubetto robot, a model binary tree, pixel boards, hex bug lego mazes, and snap circuits, before ending the day with a robot art activity.

ISU Extension and Outreach Delaware County has several other youth programs planned throughout the summer. To learn more, visit their website at https://go.iastate.edu/QGYAOA or call their office at 927-4201.
