A Coggon resident who once served the area was remembered in a special way last weekend.Â
Coggon’s new 3rd Street Bridge, which was just finished last fall, was dedicated in memory of Linn County Sheriff’s Captain Dave Knott during a ceremony last Saturday.
Mayor Pro-Tem Reenie Montgomery says it was a fitting recognition for a very deserving person.
Several former co-workers, friends, and family members gathered for the dedication.
Knott retired from the Sheriff’s Office in 2016. He passed away unexpectedly two years ago at the age of 68.
