Dyersville Celebrating Baseball and Fire Department This Weekend

There’s no Major League Baseball game at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville this year – but the community is still celebrating this weekend.

The Beyond the Game festivities, which surrounded the MLB game the last two years, are still taking place – with activities running through Sunday. Chamber Director Karla Thompson:

Dwier Brown, who played Kevin Costner’s dad in “Field of Dreams”, will be holding a meet and greet at the Baseball Hall of Dreams (the old Tegeler Dairy building by Westside Park) on Saturday from 10 to noon.

And along with baseball, Dyersville will also be celebrating their very own fire department’s 125th anniversary this weekend.

They’ll end the night with live music from Boy Named Banjo, followed by fireworks.
