One Dead, Four Injured in Crash Near Cascade

One person died and four others were injured in a crash east of Cascade late Sunday night.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to Highway 151 and Gehl Lane for a a report of a two-vehicle accident with injuries around 11:30 pm. Numerous other agencies also responded, including the Iowa State Patrol, Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Peosta and Cascade Police, Cascade Fire & EMS, and EMS departments from Bi-County, Farley, Epworth and Bernard. 

The Iowa State Patrol says a car was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 151 when it collided head-on with another car.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Four others were seriously injured – one was airlifted to Iowa City, with the other three transported to local hospitals. 

The Sheriff’s Office says the names of those involved will be released after family has been notified. 

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating.
