Tornado Touchdown Confirmed Near Cascade Monday

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a brief tornado touched down near Cascade on Monday afternoon.
It was a day of strange weather, with near-stationary storms dropping heavy rainfall from a line near Greeley down to Cascade. Several funnel clouds were spotted along the line of storms.
The tornado touched down three miles north-northeast of Cascade at 1:25 pm on open farm ground. It was 20 yards wide and on the ground for just over a mile.
The tornado has been rated an EF-U (undetermined rating) as there was no observable damage other than a convergent path in the corn.
