Delaware County Emergency Management Encourages Precautions During Excessive Heat

The heat wave continues – and today could be one of the hottest days Iowa has seen in about a decade.
Temperatures are forecasted to reach into the triple digits, with heat indices around 115 degrees.
Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator Mandy Bieber says if you don’t have air conditioning and need some relief from the heat, there are cooling shelters available.
Bieber says there are a few precautions you can take during this excessive heat.
She also suggests checking up on anyone who may be especially sensitive to this heat, including the elderly, children and pregnant women.
The excessive heat is expected to last through Thursday, with temperatures falling to around 90 on Friday and around 80 for the weekend.
