Loecke Crowned New Delaware County Pork Queen

Penner and Kann Named Pork Princesses

Delaware County has crowned a new pork queen.

Kyria Loecke of Manchester won the title at Thursday night’s 65th Annual Delaware County Pork Producers’ Barbeque.

Loecke says she’s enjoyed being involved with the pork industry.

Loecke received the crown from outgoing Pork Queen Charley Wulfekuhle of Petersburg. Brenna Penner of Dyersville and Andrea Kann of Ryan will serve alongside Loecke as this year’s Delaware County Pork Princesses.

The three teens will work with the Delaware County Pork Producers and Porkettes, Little Sir Hamalot Michael Fortman and Little Miss Pigtails Layla Linderwell throughout the next year to promote pork on a county, regional and statewide level.

The Pork Producers also awarded the Delaware County Belle Ringer Award to Kelley Ries. This year’s scholarship winners are Charley Wulfekuhle, Olivia Mensen and Ella Cole.

Thursday night’s Pork Barbeque also kicked off the Delaware County Pork Producers’ annual membership drive. If you’re interested in supporting the board by becoming an associate member or producer member, reach out to any board member. And anyone wishing to become a member of the Delaware County Pork Grill Team to help with grilling events can reach out to Shirley Helmrichs at 920-7591.
