Daniel Lee Starnes, 53, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa.
Dan was born on August 16, 1970, in Macolm, Illinois. Daniel was raised with love by Jim and Kathleen (Starnes) Cole. He graduated from high school in Iowa and graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College. Daniel enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He worked for many years in Carlisle as a mechanic until moving to Manchester in 2014. On June 4, 2016, Daniel was united in marriage to Dawn Boll in Manchester. In Manchester he worked for Maurer Repair in Delhi and Henderson’s in Manchester. Daniel enjoyed anything mechanical, including his RC cars and racing. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Starnes of Manchester; his children, Kalyssa Lawrence, Dakota Lawrence, Cassidy Quade, Alexis Starnes, Kristine Valdez, Jordan Carlin, Daniel Starnes, Jr., Kyle Beck, and Scott (Lacie) Beck; four granddaughters, Zaley Lawrence, Madelyn Carlin, Kinsley Beck, and Oaklyn Beck, with one on the way (Raelynn Beck); his father, Jim Cole of Thayer; and three brothers, Jim Cole, Jr., Lonnie Cole, and Jesse Cole; his parents-in-law, Rick and Betsy Boll of Dundee; his brother-in-law, Keith (Kelly) Boll of Winterset ; and several nieces and nephews..
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother.
