Delaware County Implementing Burn Ban

Delaware County is implementing a burn ban.

It went into effect at 3 pm on Tuesday and will continue until further notice.

Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator Mandy Bieber says conditions are very dry due to the lack of rain – and there is no measurable rain in the forecast. 

Bieber says the burn ban means large scale outdoor burning is not allowed at this time.

There are several exceptions to the burn ban.

Bieber also recommends Delaware County residents refrain from using sparklers or discarding cigarettes outdoors, which could lead to out-of-control fires. 

A burn ban is also in effect in Buchanan County.
