A dog died in a house fire in Center Point on Monday night.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says shortly after 6:30 pm, firefighters and emergency personnel responded to 121 Main Street for a report of smoke coming out of a house.Â
The fire was quickly brought under control, but the home sustained enough damage to make it unlivable.Â
No one was home at the time the fire broke out. Two dogs were inside – one died and the other was revived by emergency personnel.
The fire’s cause has not yet been determined.
