Crews are doing road work on Highway 20 near Peosta – and they’re making some adjustments to help keep everyone safe.
The project involves adding turn lanes and acceleration lanes. But the DOT says they’ve been experiencing unsafe traffic conditions at two intersections, with the Iowa State Patrol sharing similar concerns.
For the safety of the workers and the traveling public, the DOT is prohibiting left turns entirely at the Cox Springs Road intersection and they have closed the southbound left turns at Thunder Hills.
The changes will be in effect for the rest of the construction project. The DOT says Thunder Hills should wrap up on Wednesday, with Cox Springs Road likely lasting another two weeks.
