The Delaware County Solid Waste Commission is hosting a mobile collection event on Saturday morning at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester – and the event is now full with registrations.
The event is being held in partnership with the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency.
The event gives Delaware County residents the opportunity to get rid of some old electronics and household hazardous items, such as TVs, laptops, cell phones, pesticides, paint and compact fluorescent lights and tubes. Residents were invited to make an appointment for drop-off over these past two weeks.
The commission’s chairperson, Mike Schmitz, says all the registration slots have been filled. Anyone wanting to drop off items who doesn’t already have a scheduled appointment will be placed into a staging area, only to be allowed through if there is a no-show.
Saturday’s mobile collection event runs from 8 am to noon.
