Richard Joseph Werner – Manchester

Richard Joseph Werner, 57, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. He was born on October 7, 1965, in Manchester, the son of James and Elizabeth “Betty” (Wuchter) Werner. Rick was raised in the Manchester area and graduated from West Delaware High School in 1984.
On August 3, 1991, Rick was united in marriage to Kamille Milroy at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Two children were born to this union. They were later divorced. Rick farmed until 2003, and then began his career working for Paladin Company in Delhi.
Rick was on the Delaware County Grill Team. He enjoyed golf, grilling with a Busch Light, watching the Chicago Cubs, Miami Dolphins, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He considered himself an honorary assistant coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Rick most enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family.
Survivors include his two children, Dylan Werner of Cedar Rapids and Kaitlyn (Bryce Askeland) Werner of Manchester; his mother, Betty Werner of Manchester; his siblings, JoAnn Besler, Patricia (Duane) Conrad, Bonnie Nurre, Karen (Reg) Vandusseldorp, Gary (Julie) Werner, Steven (Cathy) Werner, and Kevin (Marjie) Werner.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, James Werner; and his brother-in-law Al Nurre.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester.
Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2023, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends may also call Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
