Thursday Deadline for Candidates Filing to Run in November Election
Mayor, City Council and School Board Races on Fall Ballot
This November’s election will feature city and school board races – and if you’re thinking about running, the deadline to file is this Thursday, September 21st.
West Delaware Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says they’ll have three open spots up for election on their five-member school board.
Three seats are also available on the Maquoketa Valley School Board – one for District #2 and two At-Large.
Of the eleven cities in Delaware County, nine are holding elections for mayor and one city council seat – that includes Delaware, Delhi, Dundee, Earlville, Edgewood, Greeley, Hopkinton, Masonville and Ryan.
Colesburg is holding an election for mayor and two council members (one of those seats is intended to fill a vacancy).
And Manchester will have three city council seats up for election – 1st Ward, 3rd Ward and At-Large.
If you’re interested in running, the deadline is Thursday. City candidates should file with the Delaware County Auditor’s Office, while school board candidates can file with the school board secretary.
