It’s Homecoming Week for West Delaware.
Homecoming buttons are for sale for $1 in the school offices.
Students are participating in dress-up days all week – Monday was Pajama Day, today is Denim & Disco Day, Wednesday is Barbie & Ken Day, Thursday is Future/Younger Self Day and Friday is Spirit Day.
The high school hallways are decorated too, with decade themes – the freshman hallway depicts the 90s, the sophomores have the 80s, the juniors are flashing back to the 1920s and the senior hallway is decked out in the 70s.
West Delaware’s Powderpuff Kickball Tournament will be held Thursday night at 6:30 pm at the Beckman Complex. The Car Bash starts at 8 pm Thursday in the high school’s north parking lot, with $1 per swing.
Friday brings the Homecoming Olympics in the upper gym at 12:15 pm and the Homecoming Parade at 2 pm. The Hawks will take on Maquoketa on Friday night in football , with the freshman game at 5 pm and varsity at 7:30 pm. And Homecoming Royalty introductions will begin at 6:30 pm between the freshman and varsity games, with the King and Queen announced at that time as well. This year’s West Delaware Homecoming Court includes Noelle Bardgett, Ava Bockenstedt, Maylin Coates, Taylor Domeyer, Ethan Grawe, Audrey Jolley, Stephanie La Rosa, Maggie Millenkamp, Conrad Smith and Jack Smith.
West Delaware’s Homecoming week will wrap up with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night at Old 20 Auctions.
