Linn County K9s Receive Donation of Protective Vests

Linn County’s K9s are a little better protected now – thanks to a charitable donation.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says K9s Charlie and Nora have received bullet and stab protective vests.Â
The vests are from the non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. Both vests were sponsored by Deborah Collins of Colorado Springs, Colorado and are embroidered with the sentiment, “In honor of Ralph J. Collinsâ€.Â
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. was established in 2009. It’s a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and NIJ certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s. has provided over five thousand vests to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, with a single donation of $985 sponsoring one vest.
