Starmont Names Gymnasium in Honor of 50-Year School Employee

Starmont honored one of their longest-serving employees in a special way on Tuesday night.

Cathy Smith has served as the high school secretary for decades.

That’s Suzy Hamlett, who says her co-workers thought it would be fitting to rename the spectator gym in her honor to recognize her amazing volunteerism.

Starmont is celebrating Homecoming this week – and they dedicated the spectator gym to Smith last night during the home volleyball game. From this point on, the Starmont spectator gym will be known as the “Cathy Smith Gymnasium”.
