Early Voting for November City-School Election Begins October 18th

Early voting kicks off next week for the November City-School Election.

Races for mayor, city council and school board will be decided on Tuesday, November 7th in many communities across the KMCH listening area. If you missed the listing of candidates here in Delaware County in last week’s newscasts, you can scroll back to find the story on our website at kmch.com.

Iowans can begin casting ballots next Wednesday, October 18th. This marks the start of the absentee voting period and the first day Iowans can vote in person at their county election office.

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate encourages everyone to start thinking about your plan for voting.

So far, more than five thousand Iowans have requested an absentee ballot. Absentee ballot request forms are available online at VoterReady.Iowa.gov. October 18th is the first day County Auditors can mail absentee ballots to voters who requested them. October 23rd is the deadline to request one to be mailed to you. County auditors must receive your absentee ballot by 8 pm on Election Day.

Polls will be open on Election Day on Tuesday, November 7th from 7 am to 8 pm.
