Eastern Iowa Honor Flight Announces Next Flight

The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight has announced their next flight.

Flight #49 will launch a week from today – next Tuesday, October 17th – from the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids.

Eighty-seven veterans are scheduled to board, with the majority from the Vietnam War era. The mission of the Honor Flight is to provide veterans with a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to visit the monuments and memorials built in honor of their service and sacrifice

Next week’s flight will be specifically dedicated to the VA hospital and the services they provide.

Everyone is invited to attend the “Welcome Home” celebration at the Eastern Iowa Airport next Tuesday night around 8:45 pm, which will involve a military band, flag line, local police and fire departments. Parking in both the long-term and short-term lots is free when you pick up a parking pass at the information booth in the terminal.
