Iowa’s Corn Harvest 62% Complete

The state’s corn harvest is more than half complete, though rain moving in this week could slow things down again.

Iowa Secretary of Ag Mike Naig says a significant weather system with the potential for widespread rain is expected to move through the state later this week.

With warmer and drier weather this past week, farmers have made good progress on the corn harvest, which is one week of average. Moisture content of field corn being harvested for grain remained steady at 17 percent.

Meanwhile, soybeans harvested reached 87 percent – that’s ten days ahead of average.
