A Haunting this weekend in Hopkinton

Spooky tales and good causes made for a fun Saturday night in Hopkinton, as the Hopkinton Public Library and the Delaware County Historical Society revived A Haunting. The event, which was a regular October event in years past, gave attendees the opportunity to get spooked on the old Lennox College Campus. Kimberly Albright, Hopkinton’s Librarian, explains how the Haunting worked.

Craig Lange with the Delaware County Historical Society said they took a gamble bringing back the event.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with all of the reserved spots sold out in quick fashion. The event began in the gym. From there, storyteller guides took groups to the various buildings…and the spooky stories. Albright, along with her two relatives, were inside the Main Hall.

The money raised Saturday will be split between the Library and the Society. Albright said the Library’s share will be used for programming. The Society’s share will go to capital projects.
