Manchester and Area Communities Honoring Veterans Day

This Veterans Day, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to pay your respects to the men and women who have served our country.
Here in Manchester, services are taking place at several locations this morning.Â
That’s Manchester Legion Commander Warren Coates, who says they would love for people to stop by today or any day at the Manchester American Legion on North Franklin Street.
Coates says proceeds from the Legion’s recent raffle and the steak fry dinners they hold throughout the year all go right back into the community.

Elsewhere around the area:
The Starmont High School Student Council will be hosting their annual Veterans Day Program for all area veterans. The program begins at 10:30 am in the Cathy Smith Gymnasium. This year’s speaker is James Jackson from the Purple Heart Outdoor Tour, Inc. – and prior to the program, the council will sponsor a couple of fundraisers to help raise money for Jackson’s organization. All veterans and community members are welcome.
The Earlville Legion Post will hold Veterans Day services on Saturday beginning at 10:30 am in the public school in Earlville. Afterwards, all veterans and families are invited to the Earlville Community Club for a chili lunch at the Earlville Community Center.
And several Legions are hosting events this weekend – including the Lamont Legion’s Fish Supper tonight, the Hopkinton Legion’s Tenderloin Feed and Ryan Legion’s Soup Supper on Saturday night and the Delhi Legion Dance on Sunday. You can find more information about those events on our Community Message Board on kmch.com.
