A crash in Fayette County has left one person dead and another person injured.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says a pickup rolled just north of Oelwein in the area of 45th Street and R Avenue early Friday around 1 am. The truck was northbound when it lost control, went into the ditch and rolled multiple times.
Both the driver and passenger were ejected. They were transported to Oelwein Mercy Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, 21-year old Cooper J. Ingels of Maynard, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The passenger, 23-year old Adam J. Michels of Maynard, was later transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The accident remains under investigation.
