House Fire in Guttenberg

The Guttenberg Fire Department called into action to extinguish a possible house fire last Friday morning. According to the official release, crews were called around 7:30 to 730 N 4th Lane for smoke coming from a residence. Upon arrival, it was determined there was smoke and fire coming from the basement on the south end of the structure. No one was home or in the residence at the time of the call. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control quickly.

 

An initial investigation determined the fire was accidental, starting near the furnace. No injuries and no obvious signs of foul play.

 

The Guttenberg Fire Department was assisted by the Garnavillo Fire Department, Guttenberg Ambulance, Guttenberg Police Department, and Clayton County Sheriff’s Department.
