Passenger Evaluated after Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 20

One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 20 on Monday night.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says a pickup driven by Charles Rahe of Earlville had turned from 300th Avenue onto the eastbound lanes of Highway 20 when his truck was rear-ended by an eastbound SUV.
The driver of the SUV, Joshua Wernimont of Dyersville, told authorities he was leaning back to address a child in the backseat and didn’t see Rahe’s truck.Â
No injuries were reported on the scene, but the Sheriff’s Office says the child was taken by a private vehicle to be evaluated at the hospital.Â
Both vehicles sustained damage and were towed from the scene.
