Delaware County Tourism Awarded State Grant for Marketing Refresh

Delaware County Tourism has been awarded a grant from the Iowa Tourism Office.
This week, the Iowa Tourism Office announced nearly $400,000 in Iowa Tourism Grants to 45 organizations around the state. The program funds tourism-related marketing initiatives, meetings and events that benefit both local economies and the state’s economy with awards ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 with a 20% cash match.
Delaware County Tourism’s grant of $6,100 will be used for a marketing refresh, which includes creating a new digital presence and print marketing material that reflects all Delaware County has to offer.Â
Tourism Director Maggie Sommers says the numbers show that visitor spending is increasing. “We want to create digital and print marketing material that supports that increase and offers an experience to travelers,” says Sommers.
There will be more to come on this project in 2024, but Sommers says they are excited to get started on a new look that really showcases Delaware County and promotes the county’s unique destinations.
