Anamosa High School Begins Construction on New Gymnasium

Anamosa is celebrating the addition of a new gymnasium at the high school, with the construction process getting underway.
Last fall, voters passed a $15.7 million bond referendum with 70-percent approval to build a new competition gym with new parking. Superintendent Darren Hanna says the new space will provide students with more room and a better overall experience.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held last Thursday. Hanna says there was a great show of support from the community – just like at the polls last year.
Larson Construction is looking to start excavation on parts of the project this weekend. Anamosa school officials are hoping to have the new gymnasium completed by July of 2025.
