Governor Orders Flags Half-Staff Following Perry Tragedy

Governor Kim Reynolds is ordering all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff immediately in support of students, families, teachers and staff at Perry High School and the Perry community following Thursday’s fatal school shooting.
A sixth grade student was killed when a 17-year old student opened fire before classes started, with four other students and a school administrator injured.
Reynolds opened Thursday afternoon’s news conference with a message to the Perry community.Â
Flags will fly half-staff in Iowa until sunset on Sunday.
