Delaware County Republicans Announce Caucus Night Details

The Delaware County Republicans have announced the plans for their Caucus night coming up on Monday, January 15th.

Roger Helmrichs, Chair of the Delaware County Republicans, says they welcome all interested Delaware County residents to attend their caucus, with all Delaware County precincts meeting in the upper gym at the West Delaware High School in Manchester.

Business to be conducted includes the election of precinct leaders, selection of delegates to the county convention, proposing ideas for the party platform, and casting a vote in the Presidential Poll.

Helmrichs says you must be a registered Republican living in Delaware County to participate in their Caucus.

You must also be 18 years old by Election Day – that date is Tuesday, November 5th of 2024 – though anyone under 18 can get involved as a Junior Delegate. With several candidates in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, they’re expecting a good turnout for the Caucus this year – and Helmrichs says that’s great because caucusing is important.

As we announced a couple weeks ago, Delaware County’s Democratic Caucuses will take place at Lambert Elementary in Manchester on Monday, January 15th at 7 pm. The Iowa Democratic Party will conduct traditional party business at the in-person precinct caucuses, No actions related to presidential preferences will be taken at the caucuses. but Democrats will be able to cast their presidential preference through the mail by requesting a preference card at iowademocrats.org. The last day to submit a request is February 19th, with the presidential preference results to be released on March 5th.
