Manchester City Council Holding Public Hearing on 2024 Street Project

The Manchester City Council is holding a public hearing tonight on the 2024 Street Improvement Project.
This year’s project will continue work on East Main Street, with the next section of improvements running from Bailey Drive to near Stiles Street. The project will include the reconstruction of existing streets, the installation of new sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, sidewalks and reconstruction of driveways.
The portion of the project to be assessed to private property owners will include curb and gutter and sidewalk improvements, driveway restoration, and replacement of sanitary sewer service and water service connections. Preliminary assessments for around twenty properties along that stretch of East Main Street range on average between $10,000 and $15,000 per property – though some reach as high as $22,000.Â
The public hearing will take place during tonight’s Manchester City Council meeting, which begins at 5 pm in the Manchester City Council Chambers.
