Dense Fog and Freezing Rain Possible into Wednesday

Dense fog is expected areawide this afternoon into Wednesday morning. Some fog may freeze on untreated surfaces overnight.
Freezing rain is expected as rain starts this evening and overnight from south to north. The National Weather Service says they expect this freezing rain to be less impactful than the last couple of mornings – however, with ground temperatures around freezing, they expect some surfaces, especially untreated, to become slick. Most areas should switch over to rain within an hour or two of precipitation onset.Â
Areas in eastern Iowa along and north of Highway 30 could see the most impactful freezing rain.
