Foundation for Future of Delaware County Opens Grant Cycle

Non-Profits Can Apply for Funding to Help with Projects or Programs

The Foundation for the Future of Delaware County is opening their grant cycle today.

Each year, the Foundation receives funds from the County Endowment Fund Program. The Foundation grants out 75% of these funds and invests the remaining 25% in a permanent endowment that generates interest to be distributed in future years.

Non-profits in the county can apply for grants for projects or programs that address significant community issues. These grants support a broad range of local causes, with last year’s recipients including the City of Delaware for park enhancements, the Hopkinton Ambulance Service for a portable blanket warmer and the Manchester Public Library for their new outdoor book drop.

The Foundation focuses on supporting the needs of families, so projects and programs with the goal of strengthening families will be prioritized in the grantmaking cycle.

The Foundation also welcomes proposals for projects that benefit a broad spectrum of the community or a chronically-underserved segment of the population in the areas of health and human services; education; neighborhoods and community development; environment; children, youth and families; and arts and culture, including historic preservation.

Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or governmental bodies. Other non-profits with charitable projects may also qualify, but they must partner with a qualified nonprofit or governmental body that will serve as a sponsor.

The application is available online at dbqfoundation.org/FFDC. Applications are due March 15th.
