Clayton County Conservation Offering Summer Camps

Clayton County Conservation will be offering several camps this summer.
New this year – the River Rats Day Camps, which are geared towards older youth ages 10 to 15 years old. Each camp will focus on a different theme for a full day of outdoor exploration and environmental awareness. Activities will include hiking, beginner paddling, games and more.
Nature Kids Day Camps are full-day outdoor programs for children ages 6 to 10. Each camp will focus on a different theme, but all campers will get a chance to search for wildlife, make crafts, go on hikes, and hone their nature awareness skills while exploring the parks of Clayton County.Â
Motor Mill S.T.E.A.M. camps are a fun-filled day exploring historic Motor Mill as they discover the connections between science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art with nature. This day camp is open to ages 6 to 12 years old.
And one more new camp for families was added this year – Family Camping 101. Have you always wanted to try camping with your family? Well, here’s your chance to test it out. Bring your family out to Osborne Park and learn all the steps to tent camping. Clayton County Conservation will supply everything you need and instruct you on how to set up your campsite, start a fire, cook over the fire and more.Â
Dates for all camps can be found at ClaytonCountyConservation.org. Reservations are required and space is limited.
