April Warm & Rainy, May Trending Same Way

April brought some much needed rain to the state.
State Climatologist Justin Glisan says we actually received above normal rainfall for the month.
Manchester received nearly three inches of rain last month, along with two inches of snow on April 2nd. April was also warmer than normal by about two degrees. And of course, we saw our share of severe weather.
Glisan says the immediate outlook for May shows the same trends as April.
He says though the rain is welcome to combat the drought, farmers also need a little dry time to plant.
Corn and soybean planting were slightly ahead of schedule heading into this week.
