Ryan Community Celebrates New Pavilion and Pickleball Court

The Ryan community gathered for a ribbon cutting on Sunday afternoon to celebrate a couple of new additions to their city park.

A pavilion has been built and the final touches are being added to a new pickleball court.

Both are projects of the RBI (otherwise known as the Ryan Ballpark Improvement Committee), which works to improve the city park and ball diamond. Committee member Heather Stansberry the pavilion is hopefully the first of many projects for the RBI to complete.

Nearly all the funding for the pavilion came from private donors, donations through fundraising and grants. The Ryan Ballpark Improvement Committee’s second project was the Pickleball Court.

Both the pavilion and pickleball court involved a large number of Ryan area residents – either through monetary funding, volunteers donating their time or businesses completing the work. And Stansberry says there are more projects to come.

And the Ryan Ballpark Improvement Committee is working on building a brick donor wall. If you’d like to purchase a brick, reach out to the committee or city officials. They are working on getting a large number of bricks to the engraver now so they can be completed before the Ryan Car Show and Ryan Celebration on Saturday, June 29th.
