Manchester Cemetery Company Welcomes Donations for Projects

With Memorial Day coming up, many of us will be making visits to the cemetery.

And there is a lot of hard work that goes into making our local cemeteries a beautiful resting place. Here in Manchester, Oakland and St. Mary cemeteries are under the care of the Manchester Cemetery Company.

Sara Breckenfelder serves as treasurer for the Board of Directors.

This spring, they removed twenty-one ash trees from the cemetery due to the Emerald Ash Borer – which brought a hefty price tag of about ten thousand dollars. And this year, they’d also like to begin work on beautifying a specific portion of Oakland Cemetery.

Breckenfelder says donations to help with the cemetery projects and maintenance costs are more than welcome year round for anyone who would like to help.

The Manchester Cemetery Company is also one of twenty non-profits you can donate to during Great Give Day tomorrow – go to GreatGiveDay.org to make your donation.
