New Vienna Home Damaged in Fire

A New Vienna home was damaged in a fire on Tuesday afternoon.

The New Vienna/Luxemburg Fire Department was called to 2048 Mill Street shortly before 5 pm. Firefighters initiated an interior attack and located the electrical fire in the garage area. 

The Dyersville Fire Department, Bi-County Ambulance, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Alliant Energy and Black Hills also responded to the scene. 

Fire damage was contained to the garage and attic area, with smoke damage to the living area. 

Fire Chief Mark Lukan says no one was injured. The family has been temporarily displaced, but Lukan says they are able to stay with family members. The name of the family is not being released at this time.
