Severe Storms and Flash Flooding Possible Again Tuesday

Severe storms and flash flooding are possible again today.

The National Weather Service says scattered showers and storms are expected to develop this afternoon and become more widespread by this evening and tonight ahead of a cold front.

Isolated severe storms are possible from about 2 to 11 pm. The primary threat would be damaging winds, with large hail also possible. The Storm Prediction Center has placed eastern Iowa under a Moderate Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather today.

Localized flash flooding is also possible. Areas along the Highway 20 corridor that received heavy rain on Monday – specifically eastern Delaware and Dubuque counties – will be more prone to flooding.

We’ll keep you updated on KMCH of any watches and warnings and break in with live coverage as needed.
