Manchester City Council Meeting Recap

The Manchester City Council met on Monday night.

The City has been working with Manchester developer Wes Schulte on the development of another 12-plex multi-family building in the West Brook development south of Corcoran Furniture and Dollar General, with the potential to add two additional 12-plex units.

City Manager Tim Vick says the City has been negotiating a development incentive package for the project – structured a little differently than development agreements in the past. The proposed incentives would call for a 10-year 85% tax rebate and a 10-year $25,000 zero percent interest loan.

Vick says the project would benefit Manchester.

The Council has directed Vick to work with the bonding attorney to prepare the Urban Renewal Plan Amendment and Development Agreement.

The Manchester City Council also had a split vote on approving the second pay estimate for the Grand Avenue Extension project.

Work on the Grand Avenue Extension project started this spring and is expected to be done before the Delaware County Fair.

And the City has some good news for those wanting a smoother ride of the rest of East Main Street…

Vick says the work on that section of East Main could potentially be done in September.
