Large Turnout for Delaware County Fair Parade

Motocross Returns to Fair on Tuesday Night

The Delaware County Fair officially kicked off with the fair parade in Manchester on Monday night.

Fire trucks, floats and lots of vehicles made their way from the fairgrounds down New Street and then onto East Howard Street for a parade that lasted well over an hour.

Terry and Lisa Gudenkauf of Manchester were chosen as this year’s grand marshals for their involvement with the fair over the years. Terry says it’s an honor.

He says he loves everything about the Delaware County Fair.

Delaware County Fair Queen Danielle Burkle, Fair King Evan Dunkel and Fair Princess Kaya Knipper led the fair parade, along with all of this year’s candidates. The trio, who will be crowning new royalty on Friday night, is looking forward to a fun fair week.

Delaware County Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer says they’ve got a lot of the old favorites back for this year’s fair, but she says you’ll find some new things too – including Ag Chats.

Today is Day Two of the Delaware County Fair, with few grounds activities this afternoon and the return of a fan favorite – motocross – in the grandstands tonight.
