Fairbank Area Organizations Awarded Grants

Fairbank has awarded $4,000 in grants to four local causes.
The funds were donated through POET’s 2024 Community Impact Grant Program, which awards grants to a variety of causes throughout the more than 30 communities in which the company operates.
The Fairbank Little League received a grant to resurface its baseball diamonds. The fields have been used for over 25 years and are used by over 100 local youth athletes.
The Arlington Community Club will use the grant funds toward the cost of creating a city park. The park will provide a wide range of recreational activities, which will continue to the health and wellness of the community.
Wapsie Valley Fairbank Elementary received a grant to purchase books, learning materials, and STEM equipment for the library.
And Dewar Park will use the funds to repair and update its swing set and tennis/basketball court.
Each organization received $1,000 for its respective project.
Bryon Wilson, General Manager of POET Bioprocessing – Fairbank, says giving back to the community is core to POET’s culture. Wilson says they’re proud to support these organizations that mean so much to their neighbors in Fairbank and the surrounding communities.
Through POET’s annual Community Impact Grant Program, individuals and organizations are invited to apply for funding for projects aimed at changing their community for the better. The next grant cycle will open in the spring of 2025. For more information, visit poet.com/grants.
