KMCH SPORTS: Results from Tuesday Night 7/9

Postseason Baseball resumed last night with Class 1A and 2A 2nd round District contests.

Class 2A-

In Dyersville, it took extra innings but Cascade was able to comeback with a 6-4 8-inning victory to advance on to a District Final Saturday night back in Dyersville. The Cougars will face their rival Beckman Catholic who dropped Monticello 8-2 in game 2 at Jenk Field.

Anamosa rolled past Winfield-Mount Union 14-1 in 5 innings, the Blue Raiders will host their District Final as they’ll welcome in Mediapolis.

1A-

Maquoketa Valley came back to defeat North Tama on the road 4-3. The Wildcats will travel to face Wapsie Valley Saturday night.

North Linn blanked Easton Valley 3-0, the Lynx will host East Buchanan who shutout Belle Plaine 4-0.

Starmont had their season come to a close as they lost to Waukon 5-0.

In regular season play:

West Delaware was swept by Central DeWitt 9-3 in both games. Independence fell to Cedar Falls 7-4. Western Dubuque topped Davenport North 7-0

Tonight it’s back to Softball with Class 1A and 2A 2nd round games with most of the first pitches slated to begin at 7:00pm. Our featured contests will come from Jesup and Colesburg. On MIX 94.7, kmch.com and the KMCH App, Sports Director Jon Swisher and Scot Moenck will have the call as Maquoketa Valley heads West to face the J-Hawks. Ed-Co entertains West Central with Bill Logan on the call on kmch.com.

East Buchanan heads to Gilbertville to face Don Bosco at 5pm. North Linn is home to Starmont.

Beckman Catholic travels to Durant and Cascade is at Wilton.
