Motorcycle Riders to Arrive Tomorrow to Dedicate Rock of Honor

If you find yourself in downtown Manchester tomorrow at lunch, you may very well find yourself in the midst of a wave of motorcycles. The Combat Vets 39-3 Fundraising Ride will be in town. The group, according to their Facebook page, based out of Elkader has chosen Riverbend Pub and Grill at the first stop in tomorrow’s ride.
While there…and it’s estimated that up to 700 motorcycles will be in the downtown area, they will be dedicating the new Rock of Honor. Roger Zearley, owner of Riverbend Pub and Grill, talks about how the Rock of Honor came to find its home in Manchester.
The rock was installed in early June to its home just to the east of Riverbend’s deck, meant as a complimentary piece for their long-standing Wall of Honor, representing all those Iowans who gave their lives during the Vietnam War.
The riders are set to arrive in Manchester around 11:45 tomorrow with the dedication to follow.
